The New York Islanders have a lot of their good players back such as Barzal, Duclair, and Pelech, but the Islanders sit in the bottom 6 teams in the Metropolitan Division. The Islanders have also been struggling with injuries. They haven’t had a healthy team, without a player getting hurt in the game, since October 17th. The Islanders’ Brock Nelson’s name could be one to part ways from the Islanders at the trade deadline for them to get a player to give them a push to hopefully make the playoffs. The New York Islanders can’t be anywhere close to making the playoffs if their power play can’t score and their penalty kill can’t stop the other team from scoring. The New York Islanders captain, Anders Lee, leads the Islanders in points with 35 points followed by Bo Horvat with 30 points. Anders Lee also leads the Islanders in goals with 19 goals, again followed by Bo Horvat who has 13 goals. Bo Horvat leads the Islanders in assists with 17 assists. Anders Lee has one less assist than Horvat, with 16 assists by Lee. The Islanders goalie Sorokin has been noticeable this season with an outstanding goalie performance when he is in net.
