Today was a rainy day, and for Elizabeth that meant a good day was coming. When she first arrived at school, she believed she was truly prepared for her math test. As second period approached, she recalled everything she remembered and applied that to her test. Later on, the test grades were published and Elizabeth received a 59%. She compared herself to all of her other friends who did much better than her, causing her to be unfocused during the school day. She just kept saying to herself, “I studied what could have gone wrong”. As she calmed down, she realized that mistakes are okay. Accomplishment can only feel good, after making a mistake. A few weeks later, Elizabeth had another math test, that she prepared herself for even better than last time. When she got the next results in she became ecstatic. 99%, this had to be one of her best test grades yet! Her previous test grade is what allowed her to be so proud of her hard work and progress. As Garard Way said “Being happy does not mean that everything is perfect, it means you decided to look beyond the imperfections.”
