Have you ever tried to curl your hair but it never curls or stays? That’s probably because you are using the wrong size barrel on your curling iron, not sectioning your hair right, or maybe even not putting enough hair or too much hair in the curling iron. These are all very simple ways to mess up your hair. I would recommend researching your hair type and then find a good curling iron to go with it. (I use the Hot tools curling iron. Size barrel: 1 inch. Prices range from $25.99- $30.00). I would also definitely recommend trying to find a good heat protectant so your hair doesn’t get as heat damaged as it would without it. (I use Moroccan oil. Price range: $15-$20).
Now here’s a quick and simple breakdown of how to curl your hair:
- MAKE SURE YOUR HAIR IS COMPLETELY DRY!!!
- Then, section your hair however you think is good.
- Spray a little mist of heat protectant to the section and let it sit before starting.
- Take a good amount of hair and clamp it into the curling iron.
- Roll the curler AWAY from your face so it will look even throughout.
- Hold it for about 15 seconds, then let the hair go.
- Keep doing this around your entire head and don’t forget the heat protectant.
- After you’re finished, let your hair cool before brushing it out.
- Once you think it’s been enough time brush it out with a comb (you can use a brush but it might make the curls fall).
- Then if you have put some hair oil in and some hairspray (only a little hairspray because if you put too much then your hair will be really crunchy and you don’t want that).
- And you’re done!!
These steps are to guide you and help you. This might not work for everyone because of their hair types.
