An influencer is a person who has become well-known through regular social media posts and is able to promote a product or service by recommending or using it online. Social media is on the rise, with over 50 million influencers worldwide and even more if combined with multiple apps.
Influencers seem to be living the best possible life, whether they’re a YouTuber or posting on Instagram. They make tons of money from sharing their life. They get free gifts from big brand sponsorships, collaborations with other influencers, ad revenue, and affiliate links. This seems amazing, right? Well, this job depends on the amount of views and watch hours your posts get, depending on the platform you are using and the audience you gather.
Influencers themselves often say some days are good and others not so much. If the money is inconsistent then why this job? Many people like the fame they get and how you can make this a full-time career by staying at home. The only thing is you have to be consistently posting and even then it’s never a clear path. There are many influencers with many different types of content. The influencers that vlog everything are in a precarious position; they have no privacy, giving away all their information to strangers watching them. In my opinion, yes being an influencer is a great job. You get free stuff and make money, but in the end if you really want this job, ensure you still keep your privacy so you can have a life outside of social media. Also, have another job so money is consistent. It can make a great hobby if you do it right! I would personally agree and am interested in becoming a YouTuber in the future, but just as a hobby, not a source of income. I would be sure to have another job.
